The Math Behind units
Assamese land measurement uses a base-5 and base-20 nested system:
- 1 Katha = 20 Lessa
- 1 Bigha = 5 Katha (which is 100 Lessa)
Example: If you subtract "3 Katha" from "1 Bigha", it converts 1 Bigha to 5 Katha, and 5 - 3 = 2 Katha.
